Getting Started

From installation to your first cloud backup.

1

Installation & First Run

McreaHub creates a unified environment for all your mods.

Prerequisite: You need to have Git installed on your computer for the backup features to work.
  1. Download the installer for your OS (Windows .exe, Mac .dmg, or Linux .AppImage).
  2. Run McreaHub.
  3. Define Sources: McreaHub needs to know where your projects are. Click the folder icon in the top right and select your workspace folder (e.g., Documents/MCreatorWorkspaces).
2

Connecting GitHub (Cloud Sync)

To save your projects and notes to the cloud, McreaHub needs a Personal Access Token.

  1. Go to your GitHub account settings > Developer Settings.
  2. Select Personal Access Tokens (Classic).
  3. Click "Generate new token" (classic).
  4. Scopes: Check repo (for projects) and gist (for notes).
  5. Copy the code starting with ghp_....
  6. In McreaHub, go to Settings, paste it, and click "Connect".
Why? This keeps your private mods secure and allows McreaHub to bypass API limits.
3

Installing MCreator Versions

No need to manually download ZIPs anymore.

  1. Go to the "All Versions" tab.
  2. Filter by type (Stable / Snapshot).
  3. Click Install on the version you need (e.g., 2024.1).
  4. Once installed, it appears in the "Installed" tab.

You can now launch any project with any installed version using the Launch button on your project cards.

4

Using the Logo Creator

Make your mod look professional on CurseForge or Modrinth.

  1. Navigate to the Logo Creator tab in the sidebar.
  2. Icon: Choose from 500+ built-in icons or upload your own image.
  3. Style: Adjust the gradient colors, border thickness, and rounded corners.
  4. Export: Click "Apply to Project" to automatically save it as logo.png inside your workspace assets folder.
